Sonia Cole is officially the Carmen San Diego of the fashion and modeling industry. I do admit, when I filmed this video, I wasn't quite into TikTok yet, but now that I'm posting content on there as well, I have noticed some mentions of Sonia Cole's elusive yet iconic runway career. HOWEVER, from the titles of the few videos I noticed, it seems like everyone else is just as clueless as I am when it comes to Ms. Cole.

One of my fabulous subscribers requested this Sonia Cole reaction and may have mentioned something about her vague departure from the industry in the 90s, but her runway walk alone established a legacy of its own. While she may not have continued on as a working model, she began a successful career in the 80s walking for designers like Pierre Balmain and representing women of color in fashion. By the 90s, she was walking for everyone and starring in campaigns for the upper fashion echelon.

A supermodel is about as iconic as her runway walk, and Sonia Cole is clearly an OG supermodel (Alexa: play Supermodel by Rupaul)! Sonia's striking features are only accentuated by her classy, confident, yet controlled strut. I've always admired a fierce walk, hence the several Yasmeen Ghauri and Naomi Campbell videos, but I don't think I've ever seen a walk comparable to that of Sonia Cole. She somehow manages to balance a sassy attitude with elegant poise in a way that makes you want to just know everything about her.
