Dr Alka Gupta delves into the critical issue of cervical cancer in India, exploring its current incidence rates and the urgent need for effective prevention and treatment strategies.
Dr Gupta speaks about:
Incidence in India: Know about prevalence and impact of cervical cancer on Indian women and the alarming statistics that highlight the need for urgent action.
Vaccine Information: Learn about the cervical cancer vaccine, its effectiveness, and why it is crucial for both girls and boys to receive this preventive vaccine.
Screening and Treatment: Understand regular screening and treatment options that can save lives.
Dr Gupta highlights the importance of Government role in raising awareness, increasing vaccine availability, making screening more accessible, and ultimately reducing the burden of cervical cancer. WHO 2030 Targets of 90-70-90 for cervical cancer eradication are achievable by 2030, if we raise awareness and if governments take this program as a part of the public health program and make vaccines available at a reasonable rate. We need to ensure that cervical cancer prevention and treatment become integral parts of national health policies.
