TOP 5 Copenhagen's MUST TRY Foods and Where To Get Them

We're on the go again - this time I Get Food is in Copenhagen where the culinary scene is absolutely top notch. If you're interested in that food scene but not sure what types of foods you should try exactly, then this guide will give you a great start. It's time to get food!

Smørrebrød
this is a traditional open face sandwich. In the video we hit up Hallernes Smørrebrød as we were at the Tivoli Gardens. Smørrebrød is served in many cafes and bistros but if I may suggest a couple of other options, consider Selma or Aamanns.

Danish Hotdog
hotdogs are serious business in Copenhagen. My fave is DØP which I featured in the video but if you happen to pass by Harry's place in the Nørrebro neighbourhood, they're amazing as well. Most of the hotdog stands in Nyhavn (were you see all the pics of colourful buildings along the canal) are solid too.

Wienerbrød (Danish pastry)
with origins from Austria, these multi layered, laminated Danish pastries are flakey and sweet and a must try when in Copenhagen. I featured two of the best spots but honestly, there are lots of great bakeries in Copenhagen.
Make sure to try the other varieties of pastry as well, especially if you have a sweet tooth.

Burgers
the burger game in Copenhagen is for real. Normally I wouldn't go to Europe for a cheeseburger but Copenhagen is an exception. Popl is amazing, and with it's association to Noma, not surprising. But the mini-chain Gasoline Grill is what many locals will tell you is the spot to get your greasy burger fix from. Another spot is Tommi's Burger Joint, we didn't make it on this trip but that's another one you can try.

Porridge
Grød is the big name here. Lots of breakfast spots serve a fine bowl, but no one is hipper than Grød. Go here. Trust me, it's not just your average bowl of soggy oats.
