In sacred art, medieval Dominican friars are typically depicted with a ringed haircut. Why did friars and monks have that haircut? Why did friars shave their heads? Was this practice unique to the Dominicans, or was it common among monastic orders? What's the real reason monks shaved their heads? Big questions like these have been popping up in the comment boxes of our Aquinas 101 videos since the start of our very first season. In this video series with Fr. Ambrose Little, O.P., we will attempt to provide some answers.
