This is a short video of my ride on the York Heritage Rail Trail that runs from York, Pennsylvania to the Maryland state line marking the Mason-Dixon Line. The trail then continues on toward Hunt Valley, MD via the Torrey C. Brown trail. This video starts just south of York at Brillhart Station and ends at the state line.

There are plenty of sights to see for railroad fans along this trail. It runs 21 miles from York to the state line. There is also a 4 mile northern extension that runs northward from York. The trail is composed of mostly compact fine gravel making it suitable for most bicycles. I ran 25mm road tires with no issues, though it can be a little rough in a few spots.

The trail runs along the old Northern Central Railroad corridor and there is a small part of the track that is active on the weekends near New Freedom, PA with a replica 4-4-0 steam locomotive running passengers up a short distance.

This trail passes through lots of small rail towns that offer some dining options and can make a fun day trip. The full York Heritage Trail / Torrey C Brown Trail into Maryland is a great overnight trip to make at around 40-48 miles one way depending on if you want to add on the northern extension.
