Materials needed for natural wax mason jar candles:

Pour pitcher or double boiler http://bit.ly/2myNIld
Natural cotton or hemp wicks. I use 6" ECO wicks in size 10 http://bit.ly/2n3nHs2
A kitchen/candy thermometer http://amzn.to/2mUYYt0
Long Handled Mixing Spoon http://amzn.to/2mDbFrN
Bamboo Chopsticks http://amzn.to/2n3pgWG
Food scale http://amzn.to/2lZTr0g
Natural Wax. I recommend this coconut wax http://bit.ly/2mV7vw9 or Golden Brands 464 for soy wax http://bit.ly/2dk26Iv
16 oz mason jars or glass containers http://bit.ly/2gdssyS
Essential oils of your choice (I recommend Now Foods Brand). The oils I used in this video are http://bit.ly/2mjCeBB and http://bit.ly/2lViSiI

Directions

Measure your wax into your pitcher (I used 14.5 ounces per 16 ounce container). Each pitcher holds enough wax for 4 candles comfortably.
Heat wax in the pitcher directly on the burner on medium low heat. Coconut wax usually melts fully around 170 degrees Fahrenheit. Soy wax is similar but different brands of wax will have different melting temps and pouring temps so double check with the manufacturer if you have questions. Stir occasionally.
Position your wicks while the wax is melting
Cool wax to 160 degrees and add essential oils of your choice. You can add up to one ounce of fragrance per pound of wax or as little as you would like. Since essential oil is more costly than synthetic fragrance, I usually add 1/2 ounce per pound of wax. 1 Tablespoon = 1/2 ounce.
Cool wax to 150 degrees Fahrenheit
Pour your candles using a slow steady motion. Leave 3/4” of room at the top and save some wax in case you need to do a second pour
Let candles harden/set for 3-4 hours
Remove chopsticks and save them for future candlemaking
If the tops of your candles have cracks, bubbles, or inconsistencies, reheat your leftover wax to 150 degrees Fahrenheit and do a second pour using a very thin layer of wax
Let set for several hours or overnight
Trim wicks to 1/4” with scissors
Personalize your candles
Enjoy your clean, non-toxic natural wax homemade candles! Great as gifts or for personal use!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

ALWAYS monitor your wax while it is melting. Unattended hot wax on a burner is DANGEROUS. To be safe, don’t let your wax heat to temperatures over 200 degrees.
SAVE your bamboo chopsticks and REUSE them for your next batch of candles
REUSE YOUR JARS! If there is wax left in the bottom of your containers when your candles have fully burned, freeze them for a few days, loosen the wax with a butter knife, dispose of the leftover wax, and wash the containers with soap and water. Use for more candles, drinking glasses (yes they are safe to drink out of!), canning, etc. etc. (See a demo of this in the video)
-If you are still burning candles made with paraffin wax (still the #1 wax used to make candles), educate yourself on the toxic qualities! Paraffin releases known carcinogens when burned and is a WASTE byproduct of petroleum that is produced when crude oil is refined into gasoline. EW! I will NEVER burn a paraffin candle again.
