Sometimes less is better. I'd enjoy the level better if not for that underwater section with a few tight passages and a forced waiting section which also felt claustrophobic, and I wasn't that lucky trying to anticipate that Podobo trajectory. Also, what's with that lone coin? Anons also turn into coins, but "used" blocks GFX could be easily used as ExGFX. I'd rather if the level focused more on usage of blocks vanishing upon hit. It's nice to see a sky tree section in standard, but that free fall would be better if you had more time to change your direction. Also, when you have to fall from a higher section, don't force me to land on single tiles, especially on the same height as spikes. Grinders also get in your way when you climb, and maybe falling spikes could've been a better sprite as it'd be easier to predict their pattern. The last section is also full of difficult and slow setups, and it'd have been better if the powerups had been placed better (the former is harder to access while the latter is far from the beginning). The difficulty is not so easy.

In this series, I will be playing levels from SMW Central's Vanilla Level Design Contest 2024. All playthroughs of standard levels will stay blind, albeit their respective videos will be all edited. This means that I only play the levels for the first time while capturing footage. However, an exception will be made for kaizo entries. After I've played them blind first, I'll record their replays and only leave successful attempts.

Super Mario World belongs to Nintendo. I don't own the game itself nor do I monetize its contents. This video wasn't made for business anyway and its sole purpose is showoff and entertainment.
