Two new businesses are making their way to Mingo Junction - a gas station and an ice cream shop in an all-new complex.

The new buildings and businesses are years in the making and they are projects that Ruckman is happy to see come to fruition.

"It's very exciting and I know that it's been said before that we're shovel ready and we're good to go and nothing comes, but I'm pretty positive this time it's happening,” Ruckman said. “We're going to get a gas station and an ice cream store off of Commerical by the water and sewage plant."

The new plaza will be constructed off of Ohio 7 right before the Commercial Avenue exit.

The multi-million dollar plans for the project are underway as the early phases of work include building the underground infrastructure. Once built, it will be connected to Mingo Junction's water and sewer lines. Ruckman said the project will be a major upgrade for the community.

"I'm just real excited about it, it's going to be immense for the people of the community to be able to get gas and just generally not have to drive up the river or down the river to do that,” Ruckman said.
