Bikepacking the Cantii Way - Cycle Touring on the Kent Coast & Beautiful Gravel Rides

It’s Ewan’s fourth year of going cycle touring in the summer holidays. We were captivated by the new route from ‪@CyclingUK‬ – the Cantii Way – so after our Scottish Coast to Coast Cycle tour last year, we headed down to the South East to explore an area of the country we’d never really been to before.

We camped for the four nights, keeping costs low and adding to the fun, the route is quite well catered for with campsites all costing £20 for the night for the two of us.

The Cantii Way takes you on a mixture of gravel tracks, cycle paths and quiet country lanes starting in Wye amongst the Kent Downs and taking you round the coast through Margate, Dover and Dungeness before heading back inland to return to Wye. A mix of beautiful scenery and many historical gems as well as some more modern sights such as the Eurotunnel terminal and nuclear power stations, provoked Ewan's interest and overall the route proved perfect for cycling with children.
