Pruning espaliered apple trees.

Last Fall, I bought a new home out in the sticks, there is an established apple orchard on the property.

Unfortunately, when I bought the place, I knew exactly nothing about pruning apple trees. Now, after two episodes of Winter pruning, I know a little more, but I'm no expert, as you'll see in this video.

I made a major stuff up by cutting off a branch that I've spent the last year training. And by off, I mean right off. I've got a small chance of being able to recover from my mistake, however. I haven't shown it in this video, but I got another branch, tidied up both cuts and used plumbing thread tape to tape the cut ends together. It might work, but it probably won't. I figured I had nothing to lose but a bit of tape and some time.
