Hi, I'm Danny with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Benton LittleShift on our 2024 Audi Q5. If you're a solo rider and you go to and from the trail a lot and you want a rack that's easy to use, then this is gonna be the one for you. I'll go ahead and show you how it works. Now, I'll go ahead and remove this bike. So coming down to the rear tire, these cradles down here are adjustable, so they will fit a lot of different bikes. You just push down on this tab, we take our strap away.
Now, we'll do that to the front one as well. Make sure the strap's out of the way. Now, coming up to our support on the top here, this is going to be securing the bike with the tire. But if you do have a fender, you can actually frame mount this as well. But without the fenders, this is suitable for carbon-fiber bikes 'cause it is just interacting with the tires.
But I'm gonna go ahead and take this off as well. Scoot this all the way down, and now I can lift my bike away. And, as you can see, this is a pretty low-profile bike rack here. It all folds up nicely. It's back behind your vehicle.
And you won't have to worry about hatch access, because it sits so low here. So if you're at the grocery store and you're leaving this on, you can easily get your groceries out. As you can see, this bike rack will not inhibit any of your lights, your license plate, or your backup camera. And another nice thing is that it has these two handles so it's easy to remove. But also if you have a bike on here, you can use these openings to lock it up with a cable lock.
And, as you can see, there is grip tape on this section, so it is meant to be a step. So you can actually use this to access the top of your Audi. We went ahead and put the bike back on the rack so we can get a look at how the bike interacts with this Audi here. And, as you can see, this is a larger mountain bike with a wider handlebar spread. And even with some shake, if you have that on the highway, there's no chance of the handlebars or the pedals making contact with your vehicle. Now, coming around, it does impede a little bit of your license plate and taillights, but we did look at the backup camera and it is still usable. Now, I'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements. So from the bumper to the outermost of our bike rack here, it's gonna be about 20 inches. And from the ground to the underneath of our bike rack, it's gonna be about 14 inches. So our hitch actually sits at about 12 inches. So this bike bike rack will have a two-inch rise. Now, this kit does come with a anti-rattle hitch pin, so you will thread this nut on and you will need a 3/4 inch socket to tighten this on and off. Now, we also have an alignment collar on here. This does not come with the kit. But it's nice to have if you're taking this on and off a lot, it will easily get this aligned once you put it in. And if you do have an e-bike or a heavier bike, there's no need to worry, because this bike rack does have a carrying capacity of 80 pounds. This bike rack fits a large variety of bikes and is extremely easy to use. Now, if you decide to get it for your Audi, please let us know how you like it in a review or comment. But other than that, that was a look at the Benton LittleShift on our 2024 Audi Q5.
