The Dharmalingeswarar Temple is located on a small hill in Madukkarai, near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, close to the Kerala border. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Dharmalingeswarar, and Goddess Parvati is worshipped as Dharmasamvardhini Amman. It is an ancient hill temple and is considered spiritually powerful by devotees in the Coimbatore region. To reach the temple, devotees have to climb a long flight of steps built along the hillside, and from the top there is a beautiful panoramic view of Madukkarai town, railway tracks, and the surrounding Western Ghats. The temple is especially crowded during Maha Shivaratri and Pradosham days, when special poojas and abhishekams are performed.
