World Series of Poker Main Event 2009 Day 1 with Lex Veldhuis, Daniel Negreanu & Phil Ivey

WSOP Main Event action is underway on Day 1a, with Greg Mueller correctly calling opponent's hand. 2007 World Champion Jerry Yang and Lex Veldhuis both make huge hands on the river.

Mike Matusow headlines the Day 1b feature table and does his best to get among the action. Two previous World Champions hit the rail early in the 2009 Main Event. Day 1c of the WSOP Main Event welcomes a Phil Hellmuth entrance and blow-up.

Jeff Lisandro and Daniel Negreanu highlight the action on the feature tables as another big name pro is an early casualty. Aces are everywhere on Day 1d of the WSOP Main Event, but they don't all get the desired result.

The final numbers in the WSOP Main Event reach 6,494 players, creating a prize pool of over $61 million with $8,546,435 for the 2009 World Champion.
