I had to go into the office today. I've been there maybe 10 times since this whole thing started. Once, one of the big cheeses, she knocked on the door and I said who's here who's here. And I'm watching the Mandalorian. Oh. And I got my headphones on I got my pop. You know just having a little gogu break. It looks like I was set up for movie night. What a dork.
Funny that you see the big cheeses. Funny that. Is that cuz we have Hannah Cheesman on? She's so creative. She's a writer, she's a producer, she's a director and actor. She created the web series, Whatever, Linda. That's what started her career. She was on Flashpoint, Anne of Green Gables, Murdock, Star Trek Discovery, Schitts Creek, Frankie Drake, Hudson and Rex, Jann Arden Show. And she directed a feature-length film called The Boathouse. Winner of the best thriller feature at the San Diego International Film Festival. Ladies and gentlemen, Hannah Cheesman. Yeah. Yay. Happy to be here.
What was the spark, the moment that made you decide to go in this direction. I started as a dancer. Going to dance class at age 5. I grew up with a Jazz magician father. The atts were inherently valued in our home. I went to the National Theatre School of Canada. When I auditioned and I got to the second round I said to myself I think I really want this. I had seen a hard it is to be an artist because of my father. I wrote my Lsats, got into law school. I deferred for a year while I convinced myself to go to law school even though no part of me wanted to. I killed that dream. This isn't what I want to do. That was the moment.
Very first fif is a movie called Almost Audrey. Oh yeah. Directed by Bruce McDonald. I couldn't find it. Yeah you know why? It was a pilot. But the same year you did an episode of Flashpoint. Oh my God. They show a clip from Flashpoint.
I was terrified. I couldn't remember my lines. I actually got tunnel vision because I felt so embarrassed I couldn't remember. Then a continuity person came over. I had too much pride to go, what is it? But I was, I got it I got it. I was terrified. I couldn't sleep the night before.

Next they show a clip from Whatever, Linda. That's so fantastic. Aww it was so much fun. It was a web series that we made a long time ago. Seven years ago. I co- created with my friend Julian De Zotti. And wrote it and a I'm in it, and produced it. My dear friend Matt Eastman directed it and crushed it. We're in a third round of development. I mean look, third times a charm.
Let's jump to Star Trek. They show a clip from Star Trek discovery. What was it like to audition for that part. When you doing these big shows the audition is called something else. Only when I got a call asking to measure the circumference of my head, that I realized that I was being considered for this thing. Then they show a clip from her Instagram account in her Star Trek prosthetics. They did have to deal with my oily lips and fix it because I wanted to eat real food.
You have anything coming up? The second season of a CBC gem series I directed called Something Undone. I did do an amazing feature film, called Hey, Victor! It's a film that was shot out in the Enoch Reserve. Directed by and co-written by Cody Lightning. It's a comedy a mockumentary. Hannah thank you so much. Great seeing you. Pleasure to meet you guys. Isn't she just lovely? Very cool. So creative and tall. In the video she looks tall. That's cuz she points over that other girl's head. That's what I noticed about that scene.
