79 former research chimpanzees got to experience a rare taste of snow at Project Chimps, their sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Snow is rare treat for the chimps. Much like humans do, some chimps enjoy going out in the snow while others preferred to have the snow brought to them. It only lasted for a day, but the chimps made the most of it!

And for those with questions about the snow... Project Chimps is located in the mountains of north Georgia. Snows are rare and usually only last a few days. Many of the chimps enjoy the snow, just as many humans do, and they tolerate the cold in a similar way. Any chimpanzee outdoors has the ability to go inside into their heated, large group villa at any time. In cases of severe weather, all chimpanzees are kept safely indoors.
