আয়তনের তুলনায় পূর্ব ইউরোপের দেশ বেলারুশের জনসংখ্যা কম। ফলে বাংলাদেশ থেকে কর্মী নিতে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছে দেশটি। এছাড়া কৃষি ক্ষেত্রে উচ্চশিক্ষায় বাংলাদেশ থেকে শিক্ষার্থীদের নিতে চায় তারা ।
রোববার ঢাকায় রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবন পদ্মায় বাংলাদেশ-বেলারুশের পঞ্চম যৌথ পরামর্শক সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় বেলারুশ প্রতিনিধিদল এসব আগ্রহের কথা জানান। সভায় বাংলাদেশের পক্ষে নেতৃত্ব দেন পররাষ্ট্র সচিব মাসুদ বিন মোমেন। বেলারুশের পক্ষে ছিলেন ডেপুটি ফরেন মিনিস্টার ইভজেনি শেস্তাকভ।

Compared to its size, the Eastern European country of Belarus has a small population. As a result, the country has expressed interest in taking workers from Bangladesh. Besides, they want to take students from Bangladesh for higher education in the field of agriculture.
The fifth Bangladesh-Belarus joint consultative meeting was held at Padma State Guest House in Dhaka on Sunday. Belarus delegation expressed these interests at the meeting. Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen led the meeting on behalf of Bangladesh. Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Shestakov was on behalf of Belarus.
