Reaction to HEALTH CLAIMS about STATIN Therapy!! (Short Video)

In this video, I share my perspective on the topic of statins, particularly in response to a part of a video by Dr. Alo. Let me make it very clear from the start: I have nothing against Dr. Alo, nor do I claim to be in a position to discredit him as a medical professional. This is simply my take as a medical student who dedicates all of his free time to research and shadowing medical experts.
My Perspective on Statin Therapy:
Statins do have their place in medicine, and I will not argue that they should never be used. After all, being completely absolute in science is one of the greatest mistakes anyone can make. However, it is equally illogical to suggest that a drug—any drug—does not come with problems or side effects.
A drug isn’t meant to be a "fix-all" solution. The goal of treatment is to address a health problem that is significant enough to warrant the use of that drug, even if it comes with side effects. In many cases, the benefits outweigh the risks.
Where My Criticism Lies:
With statins, we often see very little improvement in long-term health outcomes while also observing a wide range of potential downsides. My single criticism is this: it is unreasonable to claim that statins cannot negatively affect other aspects of health while reducing cholesterol. This video is my attempt to provide a balanced and informed perspective, not to dismiss statins entirely, but to acknowledge both their potential benefits and their risks.
Disclaimer:
This video is not meant to condemn statin therapy. I believe all medicines have their time and place. I am still young in my medical and research career, but I know that no drug is perfect. I have learned from my professors that every medical decision comes down to weighing the risks and benefits for a particular patient by the medical practitioners . This video is simply a discussion and my perspective based on research, observations, and understanding of the topic.
