You know the feeling.

What you envy
is not a reflection of your inadequacy.

It is a map of your Shadow.

The specific person you envy,
the specific quality in them
that produces the feeling,
the specific life or way of being
that activates it —

these are not random.

They point, with a specificity
that no personality test can match,
to the dimensions of yourself
that went into the Shadow —

the qualities, the desires,
the capacities you suppressed
or were never allowed to develop
because they were incompatible
with the identity you built
or were given.

Envy is not evidence
of who you are not.

It is evidence of who
you have not yet allowed yourself to be.
