Peruvian President Boluarte applauds ‘successful’ APEC Leaders’ Meeting in closing remarks

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte delivered the closing remarks on Saturday in Lima as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting came to a close.

Boluarte said the APEC summit had an enormous impact in the "international positioning" of the Andean nation.

President Yoon Suk-Yeol of South Korea, host of the next APEC Leaders’ Meeting, received a symbolic token from Boluarte.

APEC is the first major global summit since US President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory.

The annual gathering brings together 21 economies that jointly account for almost two-thirds of global GDP and half the world’s trade, according to organizers.
