WayForward provided me a review code for this and it's something I can't refuse. Remember River City Girls? Well this is a prequel to it. This is River City Girls Zero.

River City Girls Zero is an updated localized port of Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka. Thing is, it shows the main characters from River City Girls playing this game so how's that for meta. Anyway, it centers on Kunio, Riki, Misako and Kyoko as they team up to take down bad guys after Kunio and Riki are framed for a crime they didn't commit. After the two break out, their girlfriends team up with them to find the ones responsible.

For a beat-em up game, it's not an easy one. Believe me. You will need to rely on all the characters if you want to survive. Should one go down, that's it. Game over. Thankfully it has unlimited continues and you can keep on going. Plus the game has offline co-op. It's a pretty fun game and if you want to get an idea about this series, this is the place to start.

I recommend this game. Strong recommend.
