Strymon Iridium | The Most-Asked Questions | IRs, DI Boxes, and Wet FX

Описание к видео Strymon Iridium | The Most-Asked Questions | IRs, DI Boxes, and Wet FX

It seems like every week I see a new Iridium user (or any other amp modeler, really) asking the same questions online: do I need to buy some third party cabinet IRs? Is it okay to use a regular DI box or do I need one of these new line isolator units from Walrus or Pinstripe? Do you put your delays and reverbs before the Iridium or after it?

This video is an attempt to dig into some of that, particularly the IR question, which I haven't really explored too much before now.

Some signal chain notes that I didn't really go into in the video:
Guitar is a Fender JA-90 Telecaster
The drives I'm using here are the Paul Cochrane Timmy (always on) and the Mojo Hand Rook (for the more overdriven parts).
The delay and reverb in the first part of the video are a Source Audio Nemesis and Neunaber Immerse. The ending where I dig into Wet FX order, is a Strymon El Capistan and blueSky (I wanted to use something not attached to my board so I could switch the order around on the fly).
Unless I say otherwise, I'm usually on the Chime amp into cab A.
Except for the few minutes where I'm testing out a different DI box, most of the video is using the Walrus Canvas.

Unless I state otherwise in the video, everything I test out on here is stuff that I bought myself. There are no paid reviews on this channel and only a couple times have I ever had items sent to me for review. All opinions are my own!
