Most frequently, people go through a bail bonding company for assistance in bailing out a person form jail. The bail bond companies are fast and efficient at bailing individuals out of custody, but it does come at a price. A bail bond company will usually charge someone looking to post a 10% (non-refundable) fee to post bail. If you want to save that 10%, then you need to post bail yourself.

It is possible to post bail at the Kitsap County Jail without a bail bondsman. However, you will need the full amount of bail upfront. The jail will only accept the bail amount in cash or cashier's check. And, if going to the Kitsap County jail to post bail, it should be done after 7:00 PM. Prior to 7:00, the jail staff will be too busy to attend to your request.

In some circumstances it may not be possible to bail out a friend or loved one due to them being on a no bail hold.
