Join us for a relaxed evening of BUSH TUKKA yarns and native tapas.

Commencing at the Joondaburri walk you will be greeted with local Uncles who will guide and educate you on the traditional ways of the Joondaburri people who lived here 3000 years before the arrival of Europeans and demonstrate what can be learned from the natural environment. (Meeting point-Joondaburri walk near the Bribie Island Kindergarten 34 Cotterill Avenue Bongaree)

From here we will take a leisurely beachside stroll to Annie lane in Bongaree.

Bruce Gululai Phillips, founder of MURRI TUKKA will take you on an exciting and informative BUSH TUKKA workshop and demonstration. This workshop will be and interactive experience and provide a unique opportunity to learn about the traditional plant foods of First Nations people. Upon commencement you will be immersed further into the Indigenous culture with the local jarjums will perform a traditional smoke ceremony and dance.

To finish the evening chef Candice from Annie Lane Cafe will provide a unique opportunity to taste BUSH TUKKA tapas with a modern twist. Local Lacey’s Hill Gin cocktail will be provided with a house made lemon myrtle infusion.

The Elders will enjoy the evening with you and relish in the opportunity for a yarn.
