How To Make a patch - Banner and Text

Описание к видео How To Make a patch - Banner and Text

HEYYYY so if you haven't seen the the pizza patch video.. watch that one first.. ( http://bit.ly/2nGONV4 ) it goes into more of the basics.. This is just some more tips and tricks (especially for making a banner patch:) Thanks!

Whaaatup!! so today I'm going to show you how to make this banner patch!

First thing i did was i took the backing and i drew out about how big i wanted the banner to be. Next I put out some paper and drew out how i wanted and traced it for reals on the backing i'm going to use. then i made the lettering " ain't easy being cheesy"

Then you'll put the fabric over the backing and put that over the small hoop and place the big hoop over the top. Make it nice and tight.

I put it in these clamps just so it was nice to see when i filmed it.

Also to make the white: If you want to cheat or an easier way.. You can just use the fabric. you don't have to fill it in with thread. I just do it cause i think it looks cooler.. but it does take a bit of time.

Once you get all the white done.. you start the lettering. There is a trick to this.. and I'll show you once I move my biiiig fat head.

the trick to doing the lettering is using your needle to peek through the thread to see the lettering you drew on the backing. Then once you have the spot you just come through the back and peek through again to see where to come down.

And thats what you'll do till you have all the lettering.

After that just finish up the line work. Do every line that isn't on the out side.

Once thats done. take it off the hoop and remove the backing. Then put on the iron on adhesive.

I found out that I don't like iron on adhesive as much as just peel and stick adhesive. But i still like doing the iron on cause it hold the thread together nice and makes the patch nice and stiff.

[Cut out the patching leaving 1/8" of fabric around the edge]

Then add some fabric glue around the out side to keep it from fraying when you do the outside line.

Do the outside line just like the Pizza patch video. Go check that out if you haven't:)

I am going to slow it down a bit here so you can see what I'm doing. Go up through the front and move down a bit.. and through the front again

A lot of people said how fast the last video was and how they couldn't see. If there are other things you would like me to slow down and go through in more detail.. just let me know.

I could just skip through this part and show the ending... but I want to show how long and tedious the process can be.. It is fun and cool.. but It does take a long time.

Done!

So about the sticky adhesive.. It just peels of like a sticker and you lay your patch face up on the sticky side. Make sure to cover the entire patch. (thats why I cut out that extra piece)

Then just cut it out to fit the patch exactly

The adhesive has two wax paper sides with the sticky stuff in the middle.

Just peel off the second wax paper and press it on!:)

This is why I like it better than the iron on. It just seems to stick better and is easier to apply.

So... there you have it. Ain't easy being cheesy... cheesy ol' me.

What do you think? should I make a bunch of these to sell? or... what?
Let me know.
