Gowri Ramnarayan, writer, playwright and singer, brings together music, dance and theatre in her latest production Enchantment, a bioplay on sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. Conceived during his birth centenary in 2020, the play draws on Gowri’s memories, interviews and conversations with the legend and his close associates. It traces his extraordinary journey from dancer to world-renowned musician, marked by restlessness, rivalry, turmoil and triumph. With contributions from artistes like Bombay Jayashri and dancers Renjith and Vijna, the play captures not just the genius of Ravi Shankar but also the universal struggle of pursuing dreams with passion and conviction.
