Colin Gray, the father of the 14-year-old student accused of opening fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia and killing four people told law enforcement in 2023 that his son was bullied, tormented and called "gay" by his classmates, Fox News reports.

The comments were made during a police interrogation of Colin Gray after the FBI alleged his then 13-year-old son Colt Gray was behind online school shooting threats.

In the transcripts obtained by Fox News, Colin Gray told law enforcement, “Colt’s gone through a lot… it just was very difficult for him to go to school and not get picked on by, you know, it went from one thing to another to, you know, he was talking to the couple friends he has.”

Colin Gray discussed the bullying further and said he was “ridiculed,” adding “I was trying to get him on the golf team… like ‘Oh look, Colt’s gay. He’s dating that guy.’ Just ridiculed him day after day after day.”

Colt and Colin Gray both face charges in connection with Wednesday’s shooting that killed two students and two teachers. Nine other people were also wounded in the attack.

The teen is charged with murder, while his father is accused of second-degree murder for providing his son with a semi-automatic AR 15-style rifle despite knowing his son “was a threat to himself and others.”

Hearings on Friday determined both father and son would remain jailed with no bond requested by their attorneys.

The next court date for the two is set for December.
