The 2018 Toyota C-HR is standard with an electronic parking brake and brake hold feature. That uses the rear brakes and ECU to automatically engage the parking brake when the vehicle is put in park.

The Brake Hold feature is paired with the electronic parking brake. This feature will assist you when changing gears or starting the vehicle when positioned in a decline or incline. When engaged, the rear brakes will hold when you change gears with the gear shift. This prevents any rolling in the time that it takes for you to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator.

This feature is becoming more available on other vehicles. It is now standard on the 2018 Toyota Camry XLE and XSE. Stay tuned for more use in the future.
