Welcome back to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, the fifth instalment in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise. The game features Sam Fisher as he is on the run from the NSA after being blamed for the murder of his former boss and friend, Irving Lambert, in Double Agent. Sam is whiling away his time in Malta when Grim manages to get in contact with him and informs him of a threat to his life, which leads him to information about Sarah and her disappearance, opening up a long-buried can of worms. The gameplay for this iteration has been changed to a simplified binary light and shadow mechanic, and sound no longer plays a large role. Furthermore, the focus has shifted to sneaking and neutralising targets instead of slipping in and out undetected like it was in the previous iterations, causing a divide among the fans.

Archer has been set loose in a Russian Bathhouse. His first order of business: Infiltrate the St. Petersburg Banya and discreetly eliminate all hostiles without raising the alarm. After all, operational deniability is key in this operation. The world cannot know that the US was involved in this mess.

The area is divided into 5 sections: the reception, the bathhouse, the park, the cellar, and the operational hub.
