There’s a new scam that’s going around where you receive a cheap (but pretty) adjustable ring in the mail along with some business cards and a QR code to scan to learn more about who sent it and why.



Unfortunately, many who have scanned this QR code discovered it took them to a link that then installed malware on their computer. Others have reported that it gave the scammers automatic access to their banking information, although that’s probably not what happened unless they actually put their banking information into a webform on that page.



What’s MORE likely and YOU want to be aware of, is that some sites can install monitoring software on your computer or phone that then monitors the next time you use your bank ap, scrapes the information from your login, and then sends THAT to the scammers.
