Bite the bullet and rip down a Mackie 24*8 8 bus mixer. The fix for the most common ailment-- bad ribbon cables. The current up-to-date version is Rev. G supplied by Mackie. I looked for years only to find the parts recently on the Internet. I got mine from Full Compass at around $200.00.

Since it turned into a complete tear-down, I used Caig Deoxit 5 to clean up faders and pots as well. I stretched it out over a few days as to not be rushed but the whole thing could easily be done in a long afternoon.
