Описание к видео '' bonzo dog doo dah band '' - t.v.show 1967.

formed in 1962 by a few art school students who began to play a mix of old 1920's style music and dixieland jazz standards....by 1967 they were well on their way to success as a fully formed outfit that started to appear on national t.v. shows and larger venues....the line-up was stabilised enough to record two singles that promptely went no where but a spot on a new t.v.show 'do not adjust your set' gave them an opportunity to appear weekly and gain a whole new audience as they started to play in a more 'rock oriented' direction that appealed to rock clubs/university's and t.v shows....the line-up as far as i can make out here in these clips from that show is : vivian stanshall/'legs'larry smith/neil innes/roger ruskin spear/rodney slater/vernon dudley bowhay nowell and sam spoons...but it was a very flexible line-up!...'67 also saw the bands debut album released 'gorilla' ( i must admit i did buy it on release...) and really opened the door for them to bigger shows....appearing in the beatles film 'magical mystery tour' caught them playing 'death cab for cutie'....i have edited out one track here as i'm sure youtube in their wisdom would have blocked the video for 'unsuitable viewing' in these woke times...which we wont go into here.....i saw them live at an allnighter in london '69 and they came on at 3 in the morning with a 'mystery' drummer with painted on glasses etc but you knew instantly it was keith moon! one of the best shows i've witnessed....
