Coach Kalvin:
Kalvin Argueta is locally farmed and raised in Elgin, Illinois. In his youth he pursued athletic endeavors in soccer and wrestling. After becoming a NJCAA national qualifier in wrestling, he hung up his wrestling shoes in place of a coach's whistle. Following his dream to impact the next generations, Kalvin coached wrestling at Barrington High School while becoming a certified personal trainer. With almost a decade of experience, he is a highly capable trainer and coach available to assist you in achieving your goals and any endeavor. Whether it be powerlifting, speed, or athletic training Kalvin is a team mate and mentor that will always be in your corner. As a member of the team at The Bar, Kalvin hopes to grow alongside the community here. Still competing in wrestling tournaments, he is in it to win it. Additionally, The Bar has hopes of establishing a youth wrestling team so that the GURU can pass his knowledge on.

Coach Kirk:
Kirk studied at Illinois State University. He holds a baccalaureate degree in Molecular Cellular Biology. He’s been published in the journal of Brain Sciences. Upon completion of his service, Kirk went on to intern at Westside Barbell under the mentorship of American powerlifter and coach, Louie Simmons. Kirk has over 10 years of coaching experience working with military/SWAT personnel, collegiate and professional athletes as well as helping people move and feel better. With a passion for competitive powerlifting, he looks forward to helping you succeed inside and outside of the gym.
Kirk is also a Marine Corp veteran. He served in two combat tours to Afghanistan. While in the Marines, he was assigned to ensure his team was physically, mentally, and spiritually fit and ready for combat.
