This is fantastic tactical pen that everyone could use - carry it in your glovebox, purse, pocket or bug out bag. In fact, you might want more than one, I know I do. It is slightly longer and fatter than a regular ink pen but that makes it easier for me to get a grip on. The pen part writes smooth and I love that the cap - which is the part you would use as a broken glass apparatus actually screws on or off and covers the pen part.

On the other end of the pen is an LED light that works by twisting the top of the pen to one side. Now you do have to be carful if you clip it on your shirt, jacket or purse handle that you do not twist it as you are attaching the pen because the LED light will come on. The further away from an object you are the larger the light circle is. As you move the pen closer the light circle gets tinier. So it is ideal for seeing both large areas like walkways and small areas like locks on a house or car.

The body is made of aviation aluminum 6061-T6 but it is lightweight. I love the grooves along the side because they help me grip the pen better when I am writing with it.

I have not had the opportunity to try to break glass with it - and I hope I never have to use it for that - but I feel better knowing I have a way to escape from my vehicle or inside a building with glass windows or doors in the event that I ever need to.

The pen does come with batteries pre-installed plus 3 extra button batteries, 1 ink refill and 1 tag all inside of a nice gift style box.
This would make a great gift item. I know I am sure glad I have one.
