Over the years, medicine and Science have made drastic progress and have witnessed big changes. One such technology in the medicine world is the development of Artificial Wombs. An artificial womb is a device that can allow an artificial pregnancy to grow a baby outside the body of an individual who would normally carry the foetus for 9 months. Now, what if there existed a technology that produced thousands of babies every day? Sounds too unrealistic, right? Well, you don't need to think too hard because the concept of the world's first artificial womb facility has been revealed. Needless to say, it has left netizens both impressed and worried at the same time. Think of a large facility with 30,000 pods or artificial wombs that can grow human babies.
You've probably seen such things in many sci-fi movies over the years. Well, that's what is being shown in a new concept, the video of which has already been shared on YouTube. The technology is called EctoLife and the facility will be able to grow 30,000 babies a year. It's based on over 50 years of scientific research conducted by researchers and scientists around the world. However, the concept was created by Hashem Al-Ghaili, a Berlin-based biotechnologies, and scientist. He said the facility if it ever comes into existence, would allow infertile couples to conceive a baby and become true biological parents. The facility could also have an 'Elite Package', that would allow couples to genetically engineer the embryo before implanting it into the artificial womb. This means that they will be able to decide everything from height and eye color to hair color and intelligence of the baby.
The biotechnologist further explained that EctoLife can become a solution for women who lose their uterus to cancer and other medical complications. EctoLife allows your baby to develop in an infection-free environment. The pods are made of materials that prevent germs from sticking to their surfaces. Every growth. pod features sensors that can monitor your baby’s vital signs, including heartbeat, temperature, blood pressure, breathing rate, and oxygen saturation, he further added. Although the concept of this significant-looking artificial womb is just a theory yet and no one actually knows how much time will it actually take to turn out to be a practically active technology yet, if someday it becomes a reality, it will change the existence of the human race for sure. What do you think about this artificial womb which can produce over 30,000 babies every year? Do mention your thoughts in the comment section below.
