Exciting African horseback safari - horse riding with wildlife in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. An awesome horseback safari in the Okavango Delta in Botswana - game viewing, horseback riding, boat rides, helicopter scenic flights and much more…

Once part of an ancient lake called Lake Makgadikgadi but now a huge inland delta, the Okavango is a must for anyone intending to safari in Africa. In Botswana's dry winter months (June to August) some 11 cubic kilometres (that's 110 000 000 000 000 litres) of water drain out of Angola and flood an area of about 15 000 square kilometres - creating one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We filmed this video while working on a book called African Icons. We stayed at the amazing African Horseback Safari's Macatoo Camp in the Delta.
