Toenail Fungus Before/After - Lamisil/Terbinafine (2019)

My journey to cure my toenail fungus using lamisil/terbinafine.
A little backstory about me: From 2011-2019, I've suffered from toenail fungus due to trauma to my big toe, which later spread to the rest of my toenails. I decided that it was finally time to do something about it, so I went to see a foot doctor. He recommended that I remove my big toenail so that a new one can grow, and he also prescribed me 3 months of terbinafine from October 1st, 2018-December 30th, 2018.
The toenail removal definitely hurt for a couple days. I was not able to comfortably wear a shoe or put a lot of weight on my foot. The pain only lasts for about 2 days and it will just suddenly disappear. Don't plan on walking a lot for about 48 hours if you have to remove your toenail. During the first week of taking terbinafine, I only had a few headaches and a little diarrhea. After that, I felt pretty normal, very light headaches here and there. From about the end of the 2nd month through the end of the 3rd month, I started to lose my appetite a lot and I would sometimes feel depressed and unmotivated to do anything. I noticed my mood got a lot better about a week after the 3 months ended.

During the 3 months, I saw very little improvement in my nails. About 4 months after I started taking the pill is when I started to see some clearing up in my nails. It was finally going from black/purple/yellow to pink/white! My doctor said the pinky toenail would be the hardest to clear up, which was true. It's been a year and there is VERY LITTLE color from the fungus but it is definitely still clearing up. As far as my other nails, they are now pink and back to normal!

Would I recommend taking terbinafine/lamisil to someone dealing with toenail fungus? Yes. If you have symptoms similar to mine, you'll be able to manage them. (I am not a doctor, please consult with your doctor first before taking the medicine).

Would I go through this process again if I had to? Yes. It was definitely worth it to me, I can finally walk around without being embarrassed of my feet!
