In this regard, Ramanathapuram Collector Simranjeet Singh has issued an announcement, "The Tamil Nadu government is implementing a new Entrepreneurship and Industrial Development Scheme to benefit educated, first-generation entrepreneurs. Those who have completed Plus-2, degree, diploma and ITI. Those interested in starting a business can apply for this. Under this scheme, it is recommended to get a bank loan of a minimum of Rs. 10 lakhs to a maximum of Rs. 5 crores to start manufacturing and service industries. General category candidates should be 21 years of age and not more than 45 years of age, and special category candidates should not be more than 55 years of age, scheduled tribes, backward classes, most backward classes, minorities, women, ex-servicemen, transgenders and differently-abled persons.Must be a resident of Tamil Nadu for 3 years and a first-generation entrepreneur. The own investment in the project estimate for the general category should be 10 percent and for the special category 5 percent.
Businesses started under this scheme will be given a subsidy of 25 percent of the project estimate or a maximum of Rs. 75 lakh, an additional subsidy of 10 percent for the differently-abled, scheduled castes and tribals, and an interest subsidy of 3 percent.
