Two-Pot Pension System | Retirement fund industry readiness for implementation: Kanyisa Mkhize

The Two-Pot retirement system, which officially kicks off on the 1st of September, was originally meant to have started on the 1st of March earlier this year.

In the run up to this possibility the retirement fund industry was extremely concerned that they would not be able to change their systems in time to be ready for the 1st March, more so as certain legislation had yet to be passed in order to give the industry the go-ahead to make the necessary changes.

Ultimately, a political decision was taken for this new system to go ahead by the 1st of September.

So, questions remain around how well the industry has geared itself up to this new dispensation.
