Green Point Lighthouse Walk in the Fog 4K Watch the beam in the fog and listen to the foghorn.

Rough sea splashing onto the promenade and took a walk around the oldest lighthouse in South Africa. We watched the beam sweep over the sea and the fog horn gave many a passer by a huge fright. An interesting fact that in all the years the light was only once held in one position and that was when the SS Seafarer ran aground some 50 m in front of the Lighthouse. The light was used to illuminate the ship for the rescue operation. I have dived on this wreck many years ago and the ocean bed looked like a scrap heap as the ship was totally ripped apart. In winter the stormy seas have around the cape has caught many a ship off guard and driven them onto the rocks.
