1951 Nash Healey Convertible

Описание к видео 1951 Nash Healey Convertible

Here is one of the rarest models for Nash Healey...first year production, 1951. This is the last car produced in the 1951 model year and the last Panelcraft aluminum bodied Healey. Yes, this is car #100 of 100 produced for the introductory year of the collaboration between Donald Healey and the Nash motor company. Priced at $3767 it was a premium priced sportscar just after the war efforts. Designed to be a grand touring car for its accoutrements and the performance borrowed from the inline 6 cylinder engine from the Nash Ambassador along with the Borg-Warner 3 speed manual overdrive. Featuring state of the art suspension, dual carburetors, leather interior, soft convertible top, full faced 15" hubcaps, this car has panache that only a true car enthusiast can appreciate.

This car has been tucked away in hibernation since 1985 along with a plethora of other rare and vintage cars. You will notice in the photos a mixture of dusty photos and post cleaning photos to show how this car was found. A collectors dream. The previous owner has passed, and along with him so did much of the story. The car is currently in running and driving condition after much needed service work which included brakes, tires, fuel and coolant system flushing and cleaning. This model year offered only two colors: sunset maroon and champagne ivory, this car is the latter of the two featuring what we believe to be one repaint and still original interior and top. The cylinder head is from a 1953, as the original heads where porous and subjected to premature failure. See casting numbers in photos. The body lines are straight and have curves in all of the right places. This there is no evidence of any collision damage or filler in the body anywhere. There are small areas of paint loss/chips that expose the beautiful bare aluminum skin below. The undercarriage is immaculate with no rust, oxidation or modifications. Single exhaust has the perfect note and the engine runs flawlessly. All of the chrome is intact and in good condition. All emblems and trim are in place and correct. Original full sized spare tire and jack are located in the trunk along with the original carburetors and various other miscellaneous parts and pieces. The steering wheel is missing two small pieces that complete the center hub/horn. We have the other items and have yet to locate to complete the installation. Take a close look at the detailed photos, watch the narrated walk around video and judge for yourself. This is one of less than 20 complete cars known to exist.
