Training the Pushy Horse: DO's and DON'TS

Does your horse push into your space or try to nip you, but get worried if you try and set boundaries with them?

This might happen because of bad past experiences, being able to get away with this behavior previously, or possibly trying to show signs that something is wrong.

If you've ruled that this is a behavior problem, you'll want to follow the below do's and don'ts when working with them:

Never back away from them and allow them into your space
Create solid boundaries (with your body and/or hands)
Be hyper-aware of where they are at and their expression
Be proactive, not reactive
Be consistent with their training (every person handling your horse matters)
