5) Michael Baker

Michael Baker is certainly no professional career criminal.
While his crime wasn't the worst it was still pretty stupid.
He posted this photo of himself stealing gas from a police car on to Facebook.
It didn't take long for the police to rock up onto his front door and put him in jail for the night.
While one night in the slammer is all he got the fact is if he didn't post this photo the police probably wouldn't have even noticed.
And if they did they probably wouldn't even have bothered to investigate.
After he was released it looks like he didn't learn his lesson as he was bragging about it online the next day.


4) Jonathan Parker

When Jonathan Parker decided to burgle a woman's home he almost got away with a pair of expensive diamond earrings.
He had already left the property when the victim came home.
She noticed however her diamond earrings were gone and quickly realized shes been robbed.
He left no incriminating evidence such as finger prints.
However he did leave his Facebook profile logged in on the woman's computer.
Yes at some point during the robbery, Parker decided to log in and check Facebook.
The victim gave the evidence to police and Parker was arrested.


3) Hannah Sabata

Teenager Hannah Sabata somehow managed to steal a car and rob a bank successfully.
She was so happy about her successful crime that she just couldn't help brag about it.
How did she brag about stealing a car and robbing a bank?
She didn't just tell a few close friends, no she decided to upload a 7 minute video to YouTube.
Where she clearly tells the world what she did.
To make it even worse she for some reason contacted her ex boyfriend and told him about her crimes.
He then contacted police, they saw the video and a few hours after the video went live she was arrested.
Hannah was sentenced to serve 10 - 20 years in prison.


2) Troy Maye

How can posting pictures of your food to Instagram end you up in prison?
Well if youre a wanted man you better bet that law enforcement are watching your every move.
Troy Maye was wanted for numerous counts of identity theft.
However police didn't have any leads on where he may be.
It seems Troy successfully slipped under the radar until he decided to post a picture on Instagram.
He posted a simple picture of his meal but obviously didn't realize that the location tag was switched on.
This gave police his exact location and they swooped in and got their man.


1) Dustin McCombs

Police departments realize the power of social media.
So its not uncommon for them to post wanted faces onto Facebook.
Alabama police did exactly that, posting a picture of Dustin McCombs who was accused of rape.
A warrant was out for his arrest and the police asked the public for some help.
That's when they were completely shocked to see that Dustin started commenting on their post.
He was outraged that they called him a creep and posted his picture.
He had a full on comment war on their post and even accidentally dropped hints on where he was.
It didn't take long for the police to track him down and arrest him.
