Short video on some key healthcare initiatives of the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of Kerala.

The first phase of Aardram mission for healthcare focused on improving the primary health services.

It was promised that Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will be transformed into Family Health Centres (FHCs). In the first phase, 170 PHCs were identified for upgradation; and 169 out of this 170 have been upgraded. The Aardram Mission helped to create an additional 1721 posts. Now our Government sector is providing health services that are comparable and often better than the private sector. Aardram helped to improve the lab facilities and extended the time of OP services.

The change doesn't stop here. Many family health centres have transitioned into the E-health scheme, where the entire gamut of service, from OP to pharmacy, is computerized. In the next phase, 500 more PHCs will be upgraded to Family Health Centres.

(The Family Health Centre shown in the video is the FHC in Noolpuzha, the second largest tribal populated village panchayat in the State, in Wayanad. The Noolpuzha FHC has awarded the first position in India in the National Quality Assurance Certification (NQAC) process, securing an astounding score of 98 and observing NQAC standards in service delivery, cleanliness, maintenance and inpatient and outpatient care.)
