Prince William made his first public appearance since Princess Catherine's cancer diagnosis, visiting and to promote community and environmental organisations in Surrey and West London where he reassured the public of his commitment to caring for his wife.

Visiting "Surplus to Supper," he was moved by "get well soon" cards for both Kate and his father, King Charles, who is also battling cancer.

The prince also helped volunteers at the food charity by assisting in the kitchen and packing food for redistribution.
