Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury criticized West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for not addressing the demands of protesting students in the RG Kar Medical College & Hospital rape-murder case. "At least one of their demands should have been met," Chowdhury said, adding that Mamata’s meeting with the protesters lacked sincerity. He questioned why the removal of the Kolkata Police Commissioner, one of the five demands, was not addressed. "This is Mamata Banerjee's cunningness... she should leave her cunningness and talk to the students face to face," he asserted.
