Out Of Sight is the first release in two years from independent soul artist Jade MacRae who is back in a big soulful way. The song features the preeminent guitar stylings of modern blues great Kirk Fletcher, and packs a punch with Stax-esque horns, and a fearsome backing vocal section comprising Mahalia Barnes, Karen Lee Andrews and Prinnie Stevens, all soul queens in their own right. Out Of Sight was written at the peak of the Covid pandemic and was the first track penned towards MacRae's fourth full length album, expected for release early 2024. Written with long time collaborator and co-producer Ben Rodgers, Out Of Sight speaks on being set free from the clutches of someone, or something that has had you tight in its grip.
"We all find ourselves in situations or relationships that are toxic and sometimes we feel completely powerless in trying to find a way out - like being stuck in a vice. This song is about taking back your own power, through rediscovering your true essence, reconnecting to soul and self when you’ve been swept away and broken into pieces. Something beautiful can happen when we let go and allow ourselves to be set free, but it can be quite a journey to take that leap" says MacRae.
This track is a groover with a deep pocket, set by Jade's impeccable Sydney based band, which features some of Australia’s most revered and respected musicians. Out Of Sight harkens back to a classic soul sound, with MacRae's unmistakable vocal taking you on a journey to somewhere deeply personal.
