At a distance of 41 km from Jog Falls, and 140 km from Shimoga
Situated on Bhatkal - Siddapura Highway.

One of Karnataka's oldest temples, Sri Bheemeshwara Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. Mythology states that during their 14-year exile, Bheema, the second Pandava, built the Bheemeshwara temple by transporting Shivlinga there. On the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri, Dharmaraya, the Pandavas' elder brother, created the temple. Beside the temple is a waterfall known as Bheemeshwara Falls, which is thought to have been created when Arjuna used his arrow to draw water from the rocks for a ritual.
