Sam Napier Texaco, Corpus Christi

Описание к видео Sam Napier Texaco, Corpus Christi

Old silent footage from the time period around 1955, or just call it the 1950s from Corpus Christi Texas. Sam owned several gas stations in the 1950s and 1960s eventually moving to Austin where he operated 5 or 6 stations before retiring. He was good friends with Mr. Butts owner of HEB grocery during that time.

This home movie captures scenes of a service station in Corpus Christi, Sam Napier Texaco. Service attendants service cars and change tires as customers come and go, a Texaco gas tanker (beautiful truck from the era) refills the fuel supply, and men working at a food stand happily drink Coca-Colas.

A very special thanks to the Steve Gomez collection for originally uploading this material to the texasrchive.org initiative.
