Soen, Live in Istanbul (03.09.2023)

I watched Soen, a Swedish progressive band, for the first time in Istanbul. Before the show, I had a chance to talk to the band's frontman Joel. On our lovely chat, he told me lots about what Soen means, how they formed the band, their influences and Martin Lopez's becoming fan of legendary Turkish musician Ibrahim Tatlises.

After our cool conversation, I decided to spare time to watch their maybe the fourth show in Istanbul. Although it was my first time, I felt like I've been watching them for quite long. I didn't even know how the setlist would be like and normally I don't enjoy any song in any particular concert which I haven't had a listen before. But this was never the case regarding Soen's songs. All the things they played were really tough ones including Lunacy, Monarch, Antagonist and Jinn.

This lovely concert made me want to discover Soen more; so I started playing their discography at home from the beginning till the end.
