Young Flannery is a Red Necked Wallaby joey arrived in care after being rescued from his dead mother on the road; he is a bit battered and bruised and was breathing badly when I picked him up, but with lots and lots of subcut fluids, plus antibiotics, glucose and analgesia, he was a different boy by day 2. He's got cuts on his tail where he's been dragged on the road and one foot is swollen and has some deep gouges but at the moment we're more worried about his lungs and his breathing.

He's getting antibiotics (injectable), subcut fluids with glucose, and children's paracetamol for pain. When he's sufficiently rehydrated he will be swapped to an anti inflammatory to help him with his pain and trauma.
When he's up to it, he will get out of his pouch and join the other joeys in the joey room and house pen until he's one of the crowd.

I already know the outcome so you'll all be pleased to know he's a survivor.

Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for Catherine at Second Chances Wildlife Sanctuary.
Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty and roo expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
